Jesus had just fed the 5,000 people and was on the other side of the sea of Galilee in Capernaum, when a crowd of people surrounded Him and began asking Him questions. Jesus makes it very clear how to receive salvation in John 6: 38-40: "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." Christ will not cast out any who come to Him because He came to do the Father's will. The will of the Father is twofold: 1) that all who come to the Son will be received and not lost; 2) that all who believe in the Son will have everlasting life. Pray for the Father's will to be done in your life and the strength to accomplish it.
