Rock Is Life - Gospel Train Coming
When I finally put the disc on and listened, I was blown away by the acoustic delta blues sound and the unbelievably powerful raspy voice of Carns.
Gospel Train Coming Review - Italy
We specify then that the songs of the CD are subdivided between songs written by Gypsy and many classics of Christians like Blind Willie Johnson, Rev. Pearly Brown, Rev. Edward W. Clayborn, the Mississippi Fred Mc Dowell, Rev. Gary Davis. The simple interpretation of Carns exalts the saving message of the songs for purists of the old blues.
RAW WORD
We are speaking therefore about a musician with over 40 years experience that in 1992 has decided to begin a solo career with the idea of preaching and the Christian evangelization with blues a lot rough and genuine.
World Blues Traveler for the LORD
Mr. Gypsy Carns has a space in the gospel world. How can you imagine a tatooed old man with his acoustic guitar travelling around the world playing blues? Just to bring the holy bible to the blues people. And he is in the road since 1966. Can you believe it? He has a mission, and seems to not stop it until the end of time (i trully believe he has immotallity).
Gospel Train Coming
With his guitar and voice our soul ‘preacher’ gives us his evangelical blues with the same passion, devotion and joy than ever. As usual Gypsy Carns gives the best of himself in the music he passionately loves, the ‘acoustic house rockin’ gospel blues, he perfectly knows and mastery plays. VERY GOOD.
Gospel Train Coming Review
This type of music is rarely played and recorded any more. To hear it performed with such conviction is a rare treat. Carns has fashioned a fitting testimony to the musicians that inspired him and to his own faith. Consider joining him on the gospel train – it’s a joyous ride !!!!
Gospel Train Coming - Review - Italy
The preacher coming from Nashville, in effects, from many years turns the world with its resofonic guitar, using the blues like an evangelization instrument. No crowded chorus gospel like from the title, but only an uninterrupted sequence of songs coming from the Christian tradition: Blind Willie Johnson, Rev. Edward W. Clayborn, Rev. Gary Davis, the Mississippi Fred Mc Dowell, Rev. Pearly Brown and more.
Gospel Train Coming
"With his gritty rough edged exterior and on-fire heart for the Lord Gypsy will continue to reach many people from different walks of life for the Kingdom through his music."
Blues Revue: Gospel Train Coming
Nashville's Gypsy Carns continues his evangelical mission in fiery, heartfelt fashion on Gospel Train Coming (Trailer Trash Music 06). There's no mistaking Carns' devotion and passion....
